Lipscomb University is pleased to host the 30th annual Christian Scholars' Conference, June 3-5, 2010, under the theme, "Beauty in the Academy: Faith, Scholarship and the Arts."  Highlights of the conference include:    

 

 

Plenary speaker Dana Gioia
Gioia is a former Chairman for the National Endowment of the Arts.  This acclaimed poet and critic, whose most recent book of poems, Interrogations at Noon, won the American Book Award, will address faith and scholarship in the arts. 

 

 

  

 

Plenary speaker John Patrick Shanley
Shanley, a Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and director of the Academy Award nominated Doubt, will stimulate dialogue on the intersection of faith, academics, and the captivating quality of the arts. 

 

 

 

 

Baptism in the Early Church: 
A Symposium on the Work of Everett Ferguson

This symposium brings together leading scholars to engage Ferguson's latest work and to honor its author's contribution to ecumenical theological scholarship.

 

 

 

 

 

Paper and Panel sessions highlight the conference, bringing together fellow academics for collaboration and dialogue.  We invite you to participate!
